One of the villages we visited had electricity. The other didn't, but it did have this telephone booth that seemed extremely out of place. They told us that it had stood their for two years before it finally got hooked to a telephone wire.

On our return from the hills we stopped at a Buddhist temple and monastery. This is one of several giant Buddha statues that were scattered throughout the compound.

At this point our trip was nearing its close, so we decided to fly to Ko Samui - a beautiful island resort where we could relax for a few days.
