I arrived in Singapore tired from the day long flight it took to get there, but excited at the idea of exploring my first foreign country. After a quick lunch, we began to explore the city and search for a cheap hotel to spend a few nights in.

Singapore is an amazing city. On an island south of Malaysia, the small city-state houses about 3.5 million people. Singapore is an extremely technologically advanced place, massive skyscrapers loom over the spotlessly clean streets. Parts of the city are commercial centers, full of malls and outlets, but the city still has a very strong sense of history attached to it. There are dozens of temples from all religions, and many streets are lined with antique Chinese shop-houses.

As we explored the city on our first day, we came upon a Hindu ceremony being performed in the streets.
